Hi there, My name is James aka, the Stroppy Bassett DM.
I have been a D&D Game Master for almost 10 years, having cut my teeth with the Original 5e Starter Set: Lost Mines of Phandelver.
I specialise in teaching new players how to play with my approach to
>> emmerse the player into the character’s point of view – You tell me what you want to do, I will then respond with what to roll.
>> encourage the Players to use their imagination (It just might work)
So far I estimate that I’ve hosted nearly 300 players at my tables, including all levels of play (Noob to Expert) and all age groups.
>Rules as Written are used to keep consistency, but I do employ a lot of Improv decisions (rules and Intended / Rule of Cool)
Although I mostly end up being the DM at a table, I try to emmerse myself into the story as well and are often surprised by my own RP and how it fit into the narritive.
I do use a bit of voice acting when portraying NPC’s, ensuring that player comfort and sensitivities are adhered to.
If my players are uncomfortable or not having fun, nor am I – I take this very seriously.
I look forward to growing within the ZA community and hope to see many of you at a table some day.
